EN7 - English course on environmental issues

Welcome all those of you, who are interested in environmental issues to share some English course assignments with two groups of students from Kaarina Senior High School, Finland in April and May.

All the discussion prompts, videos, assignments, blog posts and other materials will be titled with EN7 so you will be able to find them more easily. Mostly there will be some background info and then ideas for further discussion in the discussion forum of this group.

We look forward to learning and sharing a lot together. Please feel free to start your discussions, too, and also post articles on environmental issues in your own country, which are close to your heart, in your blog.

When people are talking about highlighting more on cultural herittages I still can't turn my heart away from nature. How important it and close it is actually to us human. As teacher, as an individual living on earth I guess it is a big responsibility that I had to do. To myself as well as to my students. So I am working hard on environmental conciousness among my students. As for now I have about 200 students eager to join me for the wetland project in our school...an I am happy that I see many young faces of the future that have 'green mind' in my school..so I am in for this group. I had just bring some 38 students to join me in 'plant a tree programme' and wanna share some photo with you all. We plant the trees for the Orang-utans and the others faunas living in that areas..just want my students to understand that a small step taken in doing something to show we care can makes a big difference.

This week some of our dams have overflowed and the people celebrate this event a lot because it is important for the famers!!
